The gap between social media and mainstream media couldn’t be wider. The Herald Sun’s Seb Costello broke the story. Social media covered the news that IBAC was investigating the bike boy evidence. But aside from the Herald Sun’s report, only News24 (CREDLIN) and to a lesser extent, 3AW from the mainstream media covered the news. The Age, newsrooms at channels seven, nine and ten as well as the ABC and SBS were silent. Maybe Anthony Albanese’s tax-payer gifts of almost $40K a year to subsidise those journalists wages is effecting their ability to do their job.
